I used a desert scene as inspiration for this one. I added the oasis. I felt all the pink needed some green and turquoise to balance it. And a little spiral on the right side.
The usual method is fat over lean, it means the first layers fairly thin the subsecuent layer have to be thicker to avoid unwanted muddy colors. Hope this help!
Another method (if you first layer have a very strong color or is already too thick) is lo scrape the section you will paint with cloth, tissue or palette knife and then paint the next layer
Are you working wet on wet? I find layering in oil wet on wet challenging. Any tips or comments on technique? Your work is beautiful- as usual. :)
